Defend Florida December Update: Progress in Election Integrity Efforts

Defend Florida volunteers, led by Meredyth Morrow, visited Tallahassee to advocate for five key election integrity bills. Their efforts included meeting with legislators and aides, sharing summaries of the proposed bills, and fostering relationships for future collaboration. Early wins include commitments from some legislators to sponsor the bills.

The proposed legislation focuses on critical issues like limiting mail-in ballots, ensuring accurate reconciliation processes, and requiring hand-counted paper ballots. These measures aim to close loopholes identified during a 2023 voting system risk assessment.

Volunteers are encouraged to get involved by joining lobbying efforts, watching training videos, or participating in weekly strategy calls. Learn more about the bills and action steps at Defend Florida.
